The area’s natural bounty affords endless opportunities for outdoor recreation such as hiking, boating, horseback riding, and biking. Here are just a few things to do in the Northlake area.

  1. Boating and Water sports – There are two lakes located within a half-hour of Northlake. Grapevine Lake, an 8,000-acre reservoir is sixteen miles to the southeast while Lake Lewisville is twenty-four miles to the east.
  2. Go horseback riding at any of the numerous ranches and horse farms, such as Widow Maker Trail rides. Marshall Creek Ranch offers more than 12,000 acres to explore in the Lake Grapevine area.
  3. Texas Motor Speedway can give you the chance to drive around the track Mario Andretti-style.
  4. Visit a winery. There are several in the area, including Crosstimers, Umba, and Farina’s. Grapevine’s Urban Wine Trail provides great weekend getaways.
  5. Visit a nearby park. Canyon Falls Park in Roanoke which includes a bike trail, a playground, an outdoor dining area (bring your own food) and a dog park.
