There are some exciting new developments happening at Pecan Square by Hillwood in Northlake, Texas! Here, we recap some of the new amenities unveiled during the first half of 2022 and give you a preview of what is to come to our new home community later this year.
Folks at Pecan Square have a new spot to enjoy recreation and relaxation: Pioneer Park. Located almost right in the middle of The Square, this new gathering spot has something for everyone when the objective is to have fun: an exploration playground, yard games, seating, a fire pit, outdoor grills, and picnic tables. There’s even an outdoor pizza oven!
Pioneer Park is a wonderful complement to The Arena, a 22,000-square-foot venue which features an event space with a stage, a catering kitchen, big screen TVs, relaxed seating, and sports courts. Located just outside its garage-door-style doors, Pioneer Park shares the western section of The Square with The Arena and is perfect for relaxing by day or by night, thanks to the festive strings lights that illuminate the scene.
A little to the south of The Square, at the corner of South Pecan Parkway and Jack Rabbit Way, you’ll find another fun new spot for humans and dog alike—The Barking Lot! Pecan Square’s furry friends and their families are so excited to have a place to romp and play right within the neighborhood. This expansive dog park includes plenty of room to run, obstacles and structures for pups to climb on, and separate areas for both small and large dogs to have fun. Finally, a shade structure offers a break from the sun and a spot for pet parents to visit.
Yet another new amenity for Pecan Square residents to enjoy is Elm Tower, located at the intersection of Elm Place and Horizon Way, just off Cleveland Gibbs Road. Built in the same architectural style as Jackson Hall, this beautiful tower sits atop Pecan Square’s highest point, overlooking the community and offering stunning views.
Elm Tower’s cupola contains a 213-pound bell cast in 1882 by Missouri’s McShane Bell Company. Founded in 1856, McShane is the United States’ oldest bell maker. This peaceful spot features outdoor seating, picnic tables, and a water fountain inside.
This lovely park, located at the corner of Jack Rabbit Way and Rachel Street, offers beautiful landscaped green spaces, a playground perfect for younger children, and seating. It’s a great place for parents and kids to expend some energy, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with neighbors who live nearby.
Community water lovers will be thrilled to see the brand new pool at Pecan Square that just opened! Community residents now have two large resort-style pool options when they want to beat the heat. The pool is part of the expansion currently taking place on the east side of Jackson Hall. Besides being a perfect place to swim, splash and stay cool during the hot Texas summers, the pool will also have some great features:
The new pool is sure to become another of the community’s favorite places to spend time with family and friends.
Another amenity that is part of the development to the east of Jackson Hall is the Pecan Square fitness center. Having a gym right in the neighborhood makes it a lot easier to find the motivation to work out, especially if you can find friends there each time you go.
The new fitness center will include the following amenities:
